Peter
Peter
Peter lived with his grandfather next to a large meadow.
Early one morning Peter opened the gate and went out into the big green meadow. Peter loved to play in the this meadow daily, despite the fact that the could come face to face with a very dangerous wolf, who was known to roam the area.
The melody in this section of the composition portrays a mood of happiness and anticipation for the day ahead and has a skipping, lilting beat, which is perfect for the portrayal of a young adventurous boy.
Before moving to the listening exercises, ask older kids to complete the predictions page of the printables for this section.
With younger kids, ask them to verbally predict what they think the music for Peter will sound like in terms of pitch (high/low notes), dynamics (soft/loud sounds), and pace (fast/slow).
